Update 01: Coast Guard continues response to helicopter crash in Alaska during search and rescue case
Coast Guard crew members injured in the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crash Monday night on Read Island continue to receive medical care, and the search and rescue case for fishing vessel Lydia Marie is complete.
U.S. Coast Guard concludes post-storm support to Vanuatu after Tropical Cyclone Lola
HONOLULU — Following the passage of Tropical Cyclone Lola through the South Pacific island chain the U.S. Coast Guard deployed to assist the island nation of Vanuatu in the aftermath of the disaster.

A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter air crew from Air Station Sitka crashed with four people aboard on Read Island during a search and rescue mission late Monday night.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Mitchell College is scheduled to host a two-day men’s basketball tournament, named after Harrison “Honey” Fitch. The tournament will take place Nov. 17-18 and will recognize the legacy of Mr. Fitch, a former UCONN student athlete who was discriminated against at the Academy in the 1930’s.

Coast Guard medically evacuated a male passenger from a fishing vessel 40 miles off the coast of San Diego
SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard Sector San Diego helicopter crew rescued a 64-year-old male from a fishing vessel approximately 40 miles off the coast of San Diego, Thursday. Coast Guard Sector San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center watchstanders received a distress call from the fishing vessel Pride, requesting a medical evacuation for a crewmember at approximately 9 a.m. The injured male was experiencing multiple onset abnormalities.
