Coast Guard, partner agencies searching for missing man near Port Mansfield, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas— The Coast Guard, along with partner agencies, is searching for a man near Port Mansfield, Texas, Monday.

Missing is a 19-year-old man last seen wearing black shorts, black sunglasses and a black hat.

Coast Guard Station South Padre Island received a notification at 10:45 a.m. from Raymondville Police Department personnel stating someone was swept away by the current at East Cut.

Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station South Padre Island 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement crew and a Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to search for the missing man.

Involved in the search are:

  • Sector Corpus Christi
  • Station South Padre Island
  • Air Station Corpus Christi
  • Texas Parks and Wildlife Department 
  • Port Mansfield Police Department
