Brazil and the United States partner to combat illegal fishing as USCGC Stone arrives in Rio de Janeiro
RIO DE JANEIRO — USCGC Stone (WMSL 758) arrived in the port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a scheduled visit, Tuesday. The visit is Stone’s second stop in Brazil as the cutter continues its multi-mission deployment in the South Atlantic Ocean, exhibiting the U.S. Coast Guard’s partnership with Brazil and strengthening the interoperability of the two nations’ maritime forces to counter illicit maritime activity and promote maritime sovereignty throughout the region.

HONOLULU --- The Coast Guard and good Samaritans aboard two commercial fishing vessels located and rescued the crew of the 52-foot commercial fishing vessel Sea Smile 545-miles southwest of Hawaii, Friday.
Coast Guard repatriates 26 Dominicans, returns 61 of 65 Haitians to the Dominican Republic
The Coast Guard repatriated 26 Dominican nationals and returned 61 of 65 Haitians to a Dominican Republic Navy vessel Friday, following the interdiction of two illegal voyage vessels Wednesday and Thursday in the Mona Passage. Two Haitian minors, each accompanied by their mothers, who were interdicted in Thursday’s group will be returned separately along with their mothers to the Cabinet for Children and Adolescents (GANA) and the National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani).
