USCGC Vigilant’s crew returns home following 28-day Florida Straits patrol
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The crew of the USCGC Vigilant (WMEC 617) returned to their home port in Cape Canaveral Saturday following a 28-day patrol in the Florida Straits. Patrolling in support of Homeland Security Task Force – Southeast and Operation Vigilant Sentry in the Seventh Coast Guard District’s area of responsibility, Vigilant’s crew conducted maritime safety and security missions while working to detect, deter and intercept unsafe and illegal migrant ventures bound for the United States.

UPDATE: Coast Guard, partners responding to vessel aground off Maui
HONOLULU — HONOLULU --- The U.S. Coast Guard, Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources and County of Maui Police Department continue to work with contractors from Sea Engineering Inc and Pacific Helicopters to remove the pollution threat from the 94ft yacht Nakoa grounded at Honolua Bay.

Coast Guard, clean-up crews remove pollution threat from partially sunken vessel in San Juan Harbor, Puerto Rico
Coast Guard Incident Management pollution responders from Sector San Juan and the hired oil spill removal organization, Clean Harbors LLC, completed the removal of diesel and oily products from the 42-foot recreational vessel Ajo del País by Pier 11 in San Juan Harbor, Puerto Rico, Thursday. Clean-up crews refloated the partially sunken vessel to remove approximately 800 gallons of oily water waste comprised mostly of diesel and engine oil that were pumped-out from the vessel.

Coast Guard seeks public comment about Portage Bay Bridge, Seattle, regarding maritime navigation
Seattle — The Coast Guard is seeking public comment regarding the proposed project for replacing the Portage Bay Bridge (Bridge No. 520/3). Commentary should be specific to requirements for maritime navigation. Public Notice 2-23 provides expanded information pertaining to Washington State Department of Transportation's proposed bridge replacement project. Public comment will be accepted before or on March 24, 2023.
