Coast Guard rescues man 185 miles offshore Fort Myers
CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater aircrew rescued a 72-year-old man, Friday, after his 40-foot sailing vessel took on water 185 miles west of Fort Myers.
Coast Guard medevacs U.S. citizen Symphony of the Seas cruise ship passenger in the Caribbean Sea near Puerto Rico
A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew conducted the medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) of a Symphony of the Seas cruise ship passenger Thursday, in Caribbean Sea waters just southwest of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Medevaced is 57-year-old man, U.S. citizen, who experienced possible stroke symptoms and required a higher level of medical care to a local hospital in Puerto Rico.

SANTA RITA, Guam — The crew of the USCGC Frederick Hatch (WPC 1143) completed a significant operational patrol under Operation Rematau from Feb. 15 to March 4, 2024, reinforcing the U.S. Coast Guard's commitment to maritime safety, security, and environmental stewardship in the Pacific region. "Frederick Hatch marked an important milestone in the U.S. Coast Guard's relationship with our friends in Palau by pioneering the use of the recently signed enhanced bilateral agreement, and we look forward to deepening our ties with Palau's Marine Law division going forward. The cutter's first-ever visit to Tinian and participation in Yap Day were both very enjoyable ways to learn about the cultures of our neighboring islands while reflecting our commitment to communities across the Pacific," said Lt. Patrick Dreiss, commanding officer of USCGC Frederick Hatch.

Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf completes joint Malacca Strait transit, engagements with Republic of Singapore Navy, Singapore Police Coast Guard and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) departed Singapore on February 28, following a four day port call to conduct capacity building engagements with like-minded partners during a Western Pacific deployment. During the port call, the crew of the Bertholf participated in multiple professional engagements and training exercises with members of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG), and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
