The Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) continues to investigate hoax calls Wednesday and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for making multiple false distress calls that are originating from the Baltimore area.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf departs Port Blair, India, conducts exercise with Indian Coast Guard

PORT BLAIR, India – U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) departed Port Blair, India, Saturday morning, and conducted two-day exercise ‘Sea Defender 2024,’ with the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). Bertholf’s stop in Port Blair marks the first time a U.S. Coast Guard cutter has called upon the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During the port call, the crew of the Bertholf participated in multiple professional engagements and training opportunities. Bertholf crew and Indian Coast Guard members participated in operation ‘Sea Defender 2024,’ a two-day at-sea exercise designed to build upon best practices and strengthen maritime partnerships.

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard, Maui Fire Department, Ocean Safety Bureau, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources are scheduled to conduct a search and rescue exercise on March 20th, 2024, off the coast of Maui.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf visits Malaysia, strengthens partnerships with Southeast Asia regional allies

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) departed Port Klang, Malaysia, March 4, following several engagements with the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and multiple Malaysian dignitaries. The Bertholf was the first U.S. Coast Guard cutter to pull into Port Klang. The crew arrived on March 1 after completing a joint transit through the Malacca Strait alongside the Republic of Singapore Navy vessel, MSRV Guardian.

Coast Guard Cutter accidentally discharges approximately 500 gallons of diesel fuel offshore of Fort Bragg

The Coast Guard Cutter Alder, a 225-foot buoy tender, homeported in San Francisco, accidentally discharged approximately 500 gallons of diesel fuel 30 miles offshore of Fort Bragg Friday morning.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane reaches midway point of Operation Blue Pacific Patrol in Australia

CAIRNS, Australia – U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane (WMEC 903) and crew arrived in Cairns, Australia, Thursday, March 7, 2024, marking the midway point of the cutter’s inaugural Operation Blue Pacific patrol, which strengthens the U.S. Coast Guard’s relations with partners in Oceania. Harriet Lane and crew departed Pearl Harbor in January 2024 for Operation Blue Pacific and have since traveled more than 8,600 nautical miles with port calls in American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu and Australia, working alongside partner nations in Oceania. Operation Blue Pacific has allowed the Harriet Lane crew to work alongside partners with each nation’s unique expertise enhancing maritime governance architectures. The U.S. Coast Guard, using assets like Harriet Lane, will continue to serve allies and partners by engaging with local technical experts for exchanges, joint patrols, and bolstering capacity thus promoting a model of stability in the maritime environment.
