Coast Guard Cutter Cypress holds change of command ceremony
Base Kodiak, Alaska — A change of command ceremony was held aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Cypress while the cutter was moored in Kodiak, Thursday.

U.S., Canadian icebreakers conduct operation, rendezvous en route to Arctic Ocean
BEAUFORT SEA — The Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) and crew conducted joint operations with the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Sir Wilfrid Laurier and crew, Friday, in the Beaufort Sea, while northbound on a month-long science mission in support of the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Healy, the U.S. Coast Guard’s largest polar icebreaker, and crew participated in a personnel exchange off the coast of Utqiagvik, Alaska, and Capt. Michele Schallip, commanding officer of Healy, hosted Rear Adm. Megan Dean, the Seventeenth Coast Guard District commander; Youssef Mani, the assistant commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, Arctic Region; Shane Sadoway, regional director of Navigational Programs and Operations Canadian Coast Guard, Arctic Region; and Capt. Timothy Williams, Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak commanding officer.

MANISTEE, Mich. — U.S. Coast Guard personnel, along with state and local agencies are responding Wednesday to a report of the motor vessel Manitowoc spilling diesel in Lake Michigan, approximately 1.5 nautical miles offshore of Manistee, Michigan.

Coast Guard welcomes new commander to District 13
The Coast Guard’s 13th District held a change of command ceremony Tuesday morning at Coast Guard Base Seattle. During the ceremony, Rear Adm. Charles Fosse relieved Capt. Olav Saboe as commander of the Coast Guard’s 13th District which is headquartered in Seattle. Vice Adm. Andrew Tiongson, commander, Coast Guard Pacific Area, presided over the ceremony.
Coast Guard 2003 Cyber Protection Team establishes new command
ALAMEDA, Calif — The 2003 Cyber Protection Team (CPT) was established, Tuesday, at Coast Guard Island as the third CPT command and unit in an ceremony held by Coast Guard Cyber Command (CGCYBER). Vice Adm. Peter W. Gautier, Deputy Commandant for Operations presided over the ceremony. 2003 CPT’s mission is to provide assess, threat hunting, and incident response capabilities to the Marine Transportation System (MTS).
