U.S. Coast Guard Post-Typhoon Mawar Update 5: U.S. Coast Guard, partners continues response to vessels affected by Typhoon Mawar

SANTA RITA, Guam — In the aftermath of the powerful Typhoon Mawar, U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam personnel continue actively addressing vessel casualties and potential pollution in Apra Harbor, Hagåtña Boat Basin, and Agat Marina from the end of May into the middle of June. With sustained winds of up to 150 mph, the storm caused significant damage to maritime infrastructure.

Coast Guard National Strike Force receives new commanding officer

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Coast Guard Capt. Carolyn Moberley relieved Capt. Tedd Hutley as commander of the Coast Guard National Strike Force and commanding officer of the National Strike Force Coordination Center during a change of command ceremony, Thursday, at the Coast Guard Base Elizabeth City.

U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit conducts a casing of the colors ceremony at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay

NAVAL BASE GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba — U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit (PSU) 305 members conducted a casing of the colors ceremony at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay Tuesday, marking the end of the Coast Guard’s 21-year mission supporting Joint Task Force Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO). Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Linda Fagan presided over the historical ceremony and presented a Coast Guard Unit Commendation award to the men and women of PSU 305.
