Coast Guard, Puerto Rico Police rescue 3 boaters from capsized vessel just off Desecheo Island, Puerto Rico

Coast Guard and Puerto Rico Police air and surface crews rescued three boaters from a capsized vessel just off Desecheo Island, Puerto Rico, Tuesday. Rescued are Abdiel Alvarez, 21, Carlos Rosado, 23, and Jerry Mendez, 21, after the 18-foot vessel ‘La Chupi’ capsized and the men were able to successfully climb on top of the overturned vessel.

Coast Guard responds to grounded vessel off the coast of Maui

HONOLULU - The Coast Guard is responding to a passenger ferry that ran aground near Maalaea Harbor, Maui, on Monday. At 5:05 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Honolulu watchstanders received notification from the small passenger vessel Expeditions Five, a 55-foot ferry with three crew members on board, that they had run aground near the entrance to Maalaea Harbor.

Unified Command completes pollution removal from tug Mazapeta with the raising and lightering of tug

The Unified Command and its contractors have completed petroleum product and hazardous material removal efforts from the tug Mazapeta, Wednesday. The Mazapeta, a 1940s era military tugboat, sunk Sept. 4, 2023, in Little Potato Slough within the San Joaquin Delta, northwest of Stockton, with approximately 1,600 gallons of diesel and engine oil reported to be onboard at the time of the incident.

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard has suspended its search at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday for a missing crew member near Bolivar Peninsula, Texas.
