Final Rule: Updated Document Submission Process for Compliance with Electronic Records Mandate

The Coast Guard is issuing a final rule to update regulations that reflect the Coast Guard National Vessel Documentation Center’s processes and capabilities, as well as align regulations with statutory reporting timelines. The processes noted pertain to electronic file submissions, requirements for submission of original build evidence, and return of existing Certificates of Documentation (CODs). In addition, the time period related to reporting changes to COD information is updated to align with statute.

Notice of public meeting: IMO Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Construction

The Department of State will conduct a public meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 08, 2025, by way of both in-person at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC and teleconference. The primary purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the 11th session of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Subcommittee on Ship Design and Construction (SDC 11) to be held at the IMO Headquarters in London, United Kingdom from Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 17, 2025.
