Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and USS Constitution get underway in Boston with a 21-gun salute

BOSTON — U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle (WIX 327) is scheduled to rendezvous with USS Constitution at approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday, in the vicinity of Castle Island, in Boston, Massachusetts, where the Constitution will fire a 21-gun salute. Constitution will also fire a 17-gun salute as it passes U.S. Coast Guard Base Boston, the historic site of Edmund Hartt’s Shipyard where Constitution was built and launched on October 21, 1797.

Coast Guard Cutter Kimball returns home following Bering Sea deployment

HONOLULU — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kimball (WMSL 756) returned to their home port at Base Honolulu, Thursday, after completing a 122-day patrol in the Northern Pacific, Bering Sea, and American Arctic. Kimball’s crew patrolled in support of Operation Alaskan Groundfish Enforcer, Alaskan Sentinel and Bering Shield, promoting maritime governance by enforcing domestic fishery regulations while countering illicit maritime activity from foreign fleets along the maritime boundary line.

Coast Guard celebrates Rockland as a Coast Guard City

ROCKLAND, Maine — The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle (WIX 327), Coast Guard’s First District command, Coast Guard Sector Northern New England, and Coast Guard Station Rockland celebrated Rockland recertifying as a Coast Guard City, in Rockland, Maine, on August 2, 2024.   Eagle’s command, crew and Coast Guard Academy cadets hosted a reception while the ship was anchored in Rockland Harbor.

U.S. Coast Guard completes Operation Nasse in Pacific region

HONOLULU – The U.S. Coast Guard completed participation in Operation Nasse, a three-month operation conducted by Australia, France, New Zealand, and the U.S. to safeguard the invaluable marine resources of Pacific Island nations and the Western Central Pacific Ocean, July 12.

Coast Guard participates in multinational exercise near Galapagos Islands

The U.S. Coast Guard joined coast guards and navies from 13 nations, between June 24 and July 9, in an exercise hosted by Ecuador to align international mission priorities seeking to ensure the defense, security, multinational cooperation and governance of the maritime domain of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. The Eleventh Coast Guard District employed the Coast Guard Cutter Benjamin Bottoms, a 154-foot Fast Response Cutter, and subject matter experts to engage in professional exchanges with international partners completing a variety of exercises centered around countering illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing operations.
