Coast Guard apprehends 15 aliens during an interdiction off San Diego coast

SAN DIEGO — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Petrel, and Cutter Robert Ward apprehended 15 aliens in an interdiction off the coast of San Diego, Wednesday.

Coast Guard offloads over $12 million in illicit drugs interdicted in Caribbean Sea

MIAMI - U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tampa’s crew ended Fleet Week Fort Lauderdale with the offload of approximately 3,750 pounds of cocaine and marijuana worth an estimated $12.3 million, Wednesday, at Port Everglades.

In late August 2017, a devastating tropical cyclone formed in Southeast Texas. As it gained strength, it became the first major hurricane to hit the area in more than a decade. Within a four-day span, Hurricane Harvey dropped 40 inches of rain and caused catastrophic flooding that led to more than 100 deaths.
