WASHINGTON – The U.S. Coast Guard published an Accountability and Transparency Review (ATR) report on the Service’s workforce culture and organizational climate in Washington, Wednesday.

WHAT: The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Waesche is scheduled to offload approximately 18,219 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $239 million, seized from the drug transit zones of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. The Unified Command continues to monitor and respond to an oil discharge near the Main Pass Oil Gathering (MPOG) company's pipeline system, known as the MPOG 11015 incident, near Plaquemines Parish, southeast of New Orleans.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma and crew return to homeport following 65-day patrol in the Florida Straits
NEWPORT, R.I. — The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma (WMEC 908) and crew returned to their homeport in Newport on Tuesday, after a 65-day patrol in the Florida Straits. Tahoma deployed in support of Homeland Security Task Force – Southeast and Operation Vigilant Sentry within the Coast Guard Seventh District’s area of responsibility. During the patrol, Tahoma’s crew conducted maritime safety and security missions while working with other Coast Guard cutters to detect, deter, and intercept unsafe and illegal maritime migration ventures bound for the United States.

NEW YORK — A unified command composed of the Coast Guard, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Monmouth County, New Jersey, continued their response, Monday, to earlier reports of tar balls on the beach from Sea Bright, New Jersey, south to Asbury Park, New Jersey.
UPDATE 2: Unified Command continues response to oil and tar ball pollution on shorelines in Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York
NEW YORK — The unified command consisting of Coast Guard Sector New York, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York City Office of Emergency Management, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are continuing an active response to findings of oil along the shoreline north of Coney Island Creek in the Gravesend Bay area of Brooklyn, and of tar balls at Fort Wadsworth beach in Staten Island.
