Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf completes joint Malacca Strait transit, engagements with Republic of Singapore Navy, Singapore Police Coast Guard and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) departed Singapore on February 28, following a four day port call to conduct capacity building engagements with like-minded partners during a Western Pacific deployment. During the port call, the crew of the Bertholf participated in multiple professional engagements and training exercises with members of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG), and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

Coast Guard repatriates 65 migrants to Haiti

The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Venturous repatriated 65 migrants to Haiti, Tuesday, following an interdiction of a migrant venture near Great Inagua, Bahamas.

Unified Command has concluded the response Monday to an oil sheen that was observed offshore of Huntington Beach.
Over the weekend cleanup crews recovered approximately 85 gallons of product from offshore recovery efforts and removed roughly 1,050 pounds of oily waste/sand and tar balls from the shoreline. Official quantification of product collected throughout the response is ongoing.

UPDATE Final: Unified Command concludes response to sheen offshore of Huntington Beach

Unified Command concluded its response Monday to an oil sheen observed offshore of Huntington Beach. Over the weekend, cleanup crews recovered approximately 85 gallons of product from offshore recovery efforts and removed roughly 1,050 pounds of oily waste/sand and tar balls from the shoreline. Official quantification of product collected throughout the response is ongoing.

A crew from the French Air Force arrived at Air Station Barbers Point on March 4, 2024, for a week-long subject matter exchange with U.S. Coast Guard aircrews.
The seven-member team, comprised of three pilots and four crew members, is stationed in French Polynesia, Tahiti, and flies a CN235 Casa aircraft; during their visit, they participated in various activities designed to enhance their aviation proficiency and build professional relationships with their Coast Guard counterparts.

Coast Guard to conduct final planned testimony for the Grande Costa D’Avorio Hearing

NEW YORK — The Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will hold the final planned witness testimony Wednesday in support of the ongoing investigation into the fire that occurred on July 5, 2023 aboard the Italian-flagged cargo vessel, Grande Costa D’Avorio, while docked at the Port of Newark, New Jersey. Coast Guard recovers man deceased while interagency search for 1 other continues off the Condado beach area San Juan, Puerto Rico

Coast Guard air and surface units recovered an unresponsive man from the water, Sunday, and continue to search alongside interagency partners for one other man who remains missing off the Condado beach area in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Monday. Recovered deceased is Charles Victor Daniel, 20, from Moline, Illinois, while still missing is Staff Sgt. Fidel Cruz Llanos, 34, member of the Puerto Rico National Guard, who reportedly dove into the water to assist a man in distress. Bystanders reported that Cruz Llanos was last seen, approximately 80 yards from shore, going under and not resurfacing.
