Under the unified framework of Operation Ready Eagle, a series of major maritime events will take place in 2026 to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. One of these is SAIL 250, the maritime centerpiece of the anniversary. As one of the largest maritime gatherings in American history, it will bring together U.S. and international vessels across five major port cities to celebrate a shared maritime heritage.

In addition to SAIL 250, the 250th anniversary will be marked by other significant maritime events. These include the U.S. Navy-led Fleet Exercise (FLEETEX) 250 in Virginia, and the International Naval Review (INR) 250 in New York and New Jersey. A historically significant event, this will be only the seventh international naval review in U.S. history—and the fourth in NYC—featuring the participation of more than 40 allied and U.S. naval vessels.

For these and other major maritime events in 2026, the U.S. Coast Guard will serve as the lead federal agency for maritime safety and security, responsible for ensuring the safe execution of activities across the nation's waterways.
