SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard boarding team assigned to the 87-foot Marine Protector-class U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Haddock (WPB 87347) interdicted 10 suspected aliens approximately 27 miles east of San Clemente Island, Friday.
At 3:28 p.m., crew members aboard the Haddock spotted a suspicious 20-foot cuddy cabin vessel and launched a boarding team to investigate.
Boarding team members approached the vessel and gained compliance without the use of force.
Ten suspected aliens were identified, all claiming Mexican nationality.
All aliens were detained and transferred to U.S. Border Patrol agents at Ballast Point.
