Coast Guard Air Station San Diego aircrews medevac 4 passengers off cruise ships within 24 hours

Coast Guard helicopter aircrews medically evacuated four separate passengers off three different cruise ships, off the southern California coast, during a 24-hour period beginning Friday night. Coast Guard extends timeline to finalize PEIS to conduct additional analysis in response to public comments

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard extended the timeline to finalize the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the Base Seattle Modernization project from May 7th, 2023 until December 31, 2023. after receiving permission from the Department of Homeland Security. This extension enables the Coast Guard to consider public comments received on the Draft PEIS and conduct additional analysis that will help inform a final Record of Decision (ROD).
