Coast Guard medevacs a man approximately 40 miles off the coast of San Diego

SAN DIEGO — Coast Guard Sector San Diego responds to a medical emergency aboard a charter fishing vessel approximately 40 miles west of Point Loma, Thursday morning. At approximately 3:30 a.m., Coast Guard Sector San Diego watchstanders received a distress call from the fishing vessel Ranger 85, reporting a medical emergency. A 68-year-old male crewmember suffered a laceration and was bleeding.

U.S. and Papua New Guinea strengthen maritime security and sustainability through historic patrol, deepening personal bonds along the way

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea — Building on collaborative preparations and a recently ratified bilateral agreement to counter illicit transnational maritime activities, the United States and Papua New Guinea concluded a joint maritime patrol on September 4, 2023, aimed at strengthening regional security and resource management in the PNG exclusive economic zone for the first time.

U.S. Coast Guard urges preparedness for heavy weather as Hurricane Lee approaches New England

BOSTON – The U.S. Coast Guard is actively monitoring and preparing for the impact of Hurricane Lee as it approaches the New England area. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of the public, and we urge all residents and mariners in the region to take precautions to ensure their safety.

COAST GUARD ACADEMY PARTNERS WITH UCONN AVERY POINT ON STEM PROGRAM

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Academy recently partnered with the University of Connecticut on a new STEM pilot program.
