Coast Guard, Partner Agencies Respond to Boat Fire Near Seattle
SEATTLE – The Coast Guard, Seattle Fire Department, Washington State Ferries, and Good Samaritans responded to the report of a vessel on fire in Elliot Bay, Washington, Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard launched a 45-foot response boat medium crew and a 29-foot response boat small crew from Station Seattle after received reports of a recreational vessel on fire in the vicinity of Duwamish Head Light in Elliot Bay, near Seattle, around noon on Sunday.
Coast Guard Cutter Alert completes first patrol after relocating to East Coast
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Alert (WMEC 630) returned home to Cape Canaveral, Thursday, following a 60-day patrol in the Florida Straits. This marked the cutter’s first patrol since it shifted home ports from Astoria, Oregon to Cape Canaveral in June of this year.

Coast Guard, tanker ship Orange Ocean rescue boater from vessel on fire sinking 410 miles north of Puerto Rico
Coast Guard watchstanders and the crew of the tanker ship Orange Ocean coordinated the rescue of a solo boater in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 420 miles north of Puerto Rico, Friday. Rescued is Kirill Vladimirovich Mikhaylov, 53, resident of St. Kitts and Nevis, who reportedly came in distress aboard the 46-foot sailing vessel Poesterd while transiting from Bermuda to the Eastern Caribbean Island of St. Maarten.

Coast Guard medically evacuates U.S. passenger from Celebrity Apex cruise ship near Puerto Rico
A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew conducted a medical evacuation of a Celebrity Apex cruise ship passenger in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 140 nautical miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Monday. The patient was a 64-year-old woman, U.S. citizen, experiencing an abdominal medical emergency which required a higher level of medical care ashore.
