Coast Guard rescues two after vessel begins taking on water

MIAMI - A Coast Guard Air Station Miami helicopter crew rescued two people, Friday, after their vessel began taking on water approximately 55 miles northeast of Key West.

U.S. Coast Guard participates in marine pollution workshop in Solomon Islands

HONOLULU – U.S. Coast Guard personnel from the Marine Environmental Response Regional Activity Center (MER-RAC) and District 14 Response Advisory Team participated in a marine pollution incident workshop in Honiara, Solomon Islands, Oct. 8-11.

Coast Guard coordinates interservice medevac 1000 miles west of Humboldt Bay, Calif.

The Coast Guard coordinated efforts with the U.S. Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing and the U.S. Air Force's 563rd Rescue Group to medevac a mariner approximately 1000 miles west of Humboldt Bay, California, Wednesday.

Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley crew returns from 75-day Arctic Ocean patrol

KODIAK, Alaska — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley (WMEC 39) returned to their home port in Kodiak, Oct. 4, following a 75-day patrol in the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean. The crew intercepted a Russian Federation naval vessel transiting the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone, conducted domestic fisheries along the Aleutian Islands, and provided search and rescue coverage to the Bering Sea.

Coast Guard sets port conditions for Georgia, South Carolina

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Coast Guard captains of the ports (COTP) set port conditions, Tuesday, for the Ports of Brunswick, Savannah, coastal South Carolina and all other terminals and facilities due to forecasted sustained tropical storm force winds generated by Hurricane Milton that may arrive within 24 to 48 hours.
