US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle to visit Hamilton, Bermuda

HAMILTON, Bermuda — U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle (WIX 327) will be making a port-of-call in Hamilton from Sunday, July 7 until Wednesday, July 10. Eagle is currently scheduled to moor at piers 5 and 6 in downtown Hamilton. Free public tours will be available at the following dates and times: •           Sunday (12 p.m. to 4 p.m.) •           Monday (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) •           Tuesday (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Coast Guard aircrew rescues injured woman from Tórtolos Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

A Coast Guard aircrew working with local Emergency Management personnel rescued an injured woman from Tórtolos Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico, Thursday.  Rescued is a 35-year-old woman who became stranded at the beach after falling off the rocks and sustaining an ankle injury.

PHOTOS AVAILABLE: A Unified Command with representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Spill Prevention and Response (CDFW-OSPR), and Rio Vista County Fire Department has been established in response to a sheen observed near Threemile Slough, between the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers, Tuesday evening.

Coast Guard assists fishing vessel 80-miles off the coast of San Diego

SAN DIEGO — U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego responds to a report of a fire onboard the 40-foot fishing vessel Louise Caroline, approximately 80-miles off the coast of San Diego, Tuesday.  Due to communication complications, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center received notification from a crewmember aboard the Louise Caroline via text on a Garmin device. The messages were received at approximately 2:35 p.m., reporting that: there was a fire aboard the Louise Caroline, that the fire was extinguished, and the two persons aboard were reported to be safe; however, the vessel required a tow.

Coast Guard to enforce safety zone for San Diego Big Bay Boom

SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard will enforce temporary safety zones for the Big Bay Boom Fourth of July Fireworks on the waters of San Diego Bay on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The Coast Guard Captain of the Port San Diego, Capt. James Spitler, will establish 1,000-foot radius safety zones around each of the barges within north San Diego Bay, and there will be an 800-foot radius safety zone in Glorietta Bay. The safety zones will be enforced from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be centered at the following locations:
