Coast Guard extends timeline to finalize PEIS to conduct additional analysis in response to public comments
SEATTLE – The Coast Guard extended the timeline to finalize the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the Base Seattle Modernization project from May 7th, 2023 until December 31, 2023. after receiving permission from the Department of Homeland Security. This extension enables the Coast Guard to consider public comments received on the Draft PEIS and conduct additional analysis that will help inform a final Record of Decision (ROD).

MIAMI — Coast Guard Cutter Pablo Valent’s crew repatriated 82 people to Cuba, Thursday, following interdictions off Florida's coast.
Homeland Security Task Force – Southeast sustains enhanced migration enforcement posture
MIAMI— Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State announced sweeping new measures to further reduce irregular migration, including irregular maritime migration, and to significantly expand lawful pathways to facilitate the safe, orderly and humane processing of migrants. The measures announced Thursday draw on the success of recent processes that have significantly reduced unlawful migration through a combination of expanded lawful pathways and swift returns and removal of those who fail to use those lawful pathways.

Coast Guard suspends search for missing Australian cruise ship passenger off of Hawaii
HONOLULU — The Coast Guard has suspended the active search for the missing cruise ship passenger from Australia 500-miles south of Kailua Kona, Big Island, Thursday.
Coast Guard repatriate 33 Dominican migrants, returns 1 Haitian to the Dominican Republic
The Coast Guard Cutter Richard Dixon returned 34 migrants to the Dominican Republic Thursday, following the interdiction of an illegal voyage vessel Tuesday in Mona Passage waters near Puerto Rico. The interdiction is the result of ongoing local and federal multi-agency efforts in support of the Caribbean Border Interagency Group (CBIG).

Coast Guard crews search for missing Australian cruise ship passenger off of Hawaii
HONOLULU — Coast Guard crews are searching for a cruise ship passenger from Australia Wednesday, 500-miles south of Kailua Kona, Big Island.
Coast Guard enforces restricted bar in Coos Bay, OR
ASTORIA, Ore. – The Coast Guard issued a Notice of Violation Tuesday to the operator of a recreational vessel that was detected crossing a restricted bar in Coos Bay. Administrative fines were issued to the operator of the vessel for $3,000. The Coast Guard previously established regulated navigation areas for specific locations on the Oregon and Washington coasts and created guidance for these locations. When conditions become hazardous, the Captain of the Port for the Coast Guard, having jurisdiction over a particular area, will either restrict or close the bar to ensure maritime safety.
