U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Active holds change of command ceremony
PORT ANGELES, Wash. — The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Active (WMEC 618) and crew held a change of command ceremony, Wednesday, in Port Angeles. Cmdr. Adam Disque relieved Cmdr. Brian Tesson as Active’s 30th commanding officer during the ceremony. Vice Adm. Andrew Tiongson, commander Coast Guard Pacific Area, presided over the ceremony.

Coast Guard aircrew rescues 2 migrant men as search of 1 other continues just off Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
Coast Guard air and surface units rescued two migrant men Thursday night, as the search continues for one other, following an irregular migration vessel interdiction in Mona Passage waters Thursday morning. A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew found and rescued the first survivor at 7:06 p.m., approximately three and half nautical miles from shore. The first survivor was reported to be wearing a life jacket. Shortly thereafter, the second survivor, also reported to be wearing a life jacket, was able to contact a 911 emergency service operator and inform that he could see the helicopter searching. Coast Guard watchstanders assisted in relaying the information to the Coast Guard aircrew, that was able locate and rescue the survivor at approximately 8:15 p.m., Thursday.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Alert holds change of command ceremony
ASTORIA, Ore. — The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Alert (WMEC 630) and crew held a change of command ceremony, Thursday, at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria. Cmdr. Lee Crusius relieved Cmdr. Matthew Kolodica as Alert’s commanding officer. Vice Adm. Andrew Tiongson, Coast Guard Pacific Area commander, presided over the ceremony.
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy holds change of command ceremony
SEATTLE — U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) and crew held a change of command ceremony, Thursday, in Seattle. Adm. Linda Fagan, commandant of the U. S. Coast Guard, presided over the ceremony in which Capt. Michele Schallip relieved Capt. Kenneth Boda as Healy’s commanding officer.
U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit holds change of command ceremony
NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia — U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit 305 (PSU 305) held a change of command ceremony, Tuesday, at the Mariner’s Museum of Newport News. Cmdr. John Elkins relieved Cmdr. James Lovenstein as the commanding officer of PSU 305. Capt. Jason Ryan, chief of Pacific Area operations, presided over the ceremony.

Coast Guard transfers 14 migrants, one deceased person to Bahamas
MIAMI – The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Legare transferred 14 migrants and one deceased person to the Bahamas following the interdiction of a migrant venture in Bahamian waters, Tuesday.
