Notice of NVDC Change of Services

July 11, 2025

ESTOREFRONT: In alignment with the National Vessel Documentation Center’s (NVDC’s) continuous process improvement efforts, and to align with existing executive orders, as of October 1, 2025, NVDC’s application and submission process will be transitioned to a secure, all-electronic request system, eStorefront.

Customers not already utilizing eStorefront are encouraged to do so at the next available opportunity, which can be accessed via NVDC’s website at www.uscg.mil/nvdc under the “Order Products Online” tab, via the main page under “NOTICE OF CHANGE” or via direct link:  https://www.nvdc-estorefront.uscg.mil/vds-estorefront/

RENEWAL NOTIFICATIONS BY PAPER: Effective immediately, CG-1280 Vessel Renewal Notification, Application for Renewal courtesy notices will no longer be mailed to owners of individual vessels. Instead, the CG-1280 application will be replaced with a courtesy notice directing customers to eStorefront. 

Due to the form generated sequence number required to renew fleets, owners of fleet vessels will continue to receive CG-1280 renewal notices until further notice.

PDF FILING: As of October 1, 2025, .pdf filing will no longer be available.

PAYMENTS: As of October 1, 2025, and in accordance with Executive Order “Modernizing Payments To and From America’s Bank Account” NVDC will no longer accept checks, cash, or money orders, or process credit card transactions* directly in office.  Credit card and ACH (check) payment methods are accepted on eStorefront.

Please contact the NVDC if you do not have access to banking services or electronic payment systems or if you require a service not offered via eStorefront.
