Membership Open: U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 8 (TC8)

Aug. 28, 2024

The U.S. Coast Guard, on behalf of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), administers the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 8 (TC8).  TC8 focuses on the development of technical and operational standards applicable to ships and marine technology.

We are seeking individuals representing stakeholders and leaders in the maritime transportation system to join the TAG to TC8, including industry, government, academia and the public.  Membership is open to all U.S. National Interested Parties interested in and familiar with the TAG’s working procedures and scope of activities.  This is an exceptional opportunity for experts and leaders in the field to have a lasting positive impact

A U.S. National Interested Party is directly and materially interested in the relevant standards activity and is:

  1. a corporation or an organization domiciled in the U.S.; or
  2. a U.S. branch office of a foreign company registered or authorized to do business in one or more U.S. states or territories;[1] or
  3. a U.S. federal, state or local government entity; or
  4. a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.[2]

To inquire about TAG membership, please email the TAG Administrator, Mr. Tim Brown at timothy.m.brown@uscg.mil
