Coast Guard and partner agencies rescue hiker on Devil’s Slide Trail in Pacifica, Calif.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard and partner agencies rescued an injured hiker inland of Devil’s Slide Trail in Pacifica, California, Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watch standers received a request for assistance from San Mateo County Dispatch for a 26-year-old hiker who had dislocated his ankle on Devil’s Slide Trail. A Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was deployed and arrived on scene.

The crew deployed a rescue swimmer to hoist the victim into the, where he was transferred to awaiting San Mateo County EMS at the Devil’s Slide Trail parking lot.
