Coast Guard interdicts 9 aliens near Alamitos Bay, Calif.

LOS ANGELES — A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach interdicted nine aliens aboard a recreational vessel, approximately three miles south of the Alamitos Bay entrance, Sunday evening.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday, a boat crew from Station Los Angeles-Long Beach reported a suspicious vessel while on patrol.

Station Los Angeles-Long Beach interdicted the vessel without any use of force and found nine aliens aboard the vessel, all claiming Mexican nationality, and one U.S. citizen.

The vessel and all persons aboard were transferred to the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol on Sunday evening.
