SAN DIEGO – Coast Guard Cutter Terrell Horne (WPC 1131) crew members interdicted 16 suspected aliens approximately 21 miles west of San Diego, Monday morning.
At 11:46 p.m., Sunday, a Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point HC-130 Hercules air crew notified Joint Harbor Operations Center (JHOC) watch standers of a suspicious panga-style vessel. Watch standers dispatched the Terrell Horne crew to intercept.
At 2:50 a.m., a Terrell Horne boarding team embarked the vessel and detained 16 suspected aliens aboard before transporting them to Ballast Point, where they were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol agents.
