NEW YORK — The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 commemorating the 25th anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
WHO: Vice Adm. Jo-Ann Burdian, commander, Coast Guard Atlantic Area, presiding official and retired Capt. Patrick Harris, commanding officer of Coast Guard Activities New York on Sept. 11, 2001, keynote speaker.
WHAT: A ceremony in remembrance of those who perished on 9/11.
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at 7:45 a.m.
WHERE: The Verrazzano Lookout, Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY
Members of the media are requested to RSVP to the Coast Guard Public Affairs office by emailing PADETNY@uscg.mil no later than Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026 at 6 p.m., to receive instructions for attendance. Media must have valid ID and media badge.
