NEW LONDON, Conn. — Approximately 285 members of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy’s Class of 2030 have completed sea trials, marking a major milestone in their seven-week Swab Summer training program. The incoming cadets, known as Swabs, arrived at the Academy June 29 and began an intensive period of military, physical and maritime training.
Swab Summer serves as the first phase of the Academy’s 200-week cadet training program, building a foundation of discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
