ALAMEDA, Calif. — Coast Guard Base Alameda personnel hosted a change-of-command ceremony Thursday on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California.
Amy Graveley, Director of Operational Logistics Command, presided over the ceremony, where Capt. Joseph Graham relieved Capt. Corey Braddock as the commander of Base Alameda.
Graham most recently served as chief of Coast Guard Cyber Command’s Detachment to U.S. Cyber Command and concurrently as executive officer of the Cyber National Mission Force. Prior to that assignment, he served as executive officer of Coast Guard Base Miami Beach, where he oversaw mission support operations throughout Coast Guard Southeast District and supported contingency logistics for major operations and disaster response efforts, including Hurricane Ian.
Graham’s previous assignments include communications and security department head at Coast Guard Southwest District, chief of logistics at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region, operations officer at Electronic Support Unit Alameda, supervisor at Electronic Systems Support Detachment Alameda, branch chief at the Command, Control and Communications Engineering Center, and service aboard Coast Guard Cutter Chase (WHEC 718).
Braddock served as the commander of Base Alameda from August 2025 to June 2026, overseeing more than 490 active-duty, reserve and civilian personnel across 12 geographically dispersed units throughout the Pacific Area and Southwest District. During his tenure, he advanced fleet readiness by directing major maintenance and industrial support efforts for the Coast Guard’s national security cutter fleet, helped establish new organic maintenance capabilities that reduced costs and increased operational effectiveness, and managed more than $1.1 billion in infrastructure assets. He also championed initiatives that improved workforce retention and compensation, strengthened housing and installation security for Coast Guard families and led critical mission-support efforts in support of Coast Guard Forces Rio Grande and Operation River Wall, enhancing maritime border security operations along the Rio Grande.
