MIAMI — The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a grand opening ceremony for the new Coast Guard Miami-Doral Recruiting Office Saturday, as part of the Coast Guard’s Force Design workforce initiative.
The presiding official for the grand opening will be Capt. Jay W. Guyer, Coast Guard Accessions Service Center commander. Guyer will also preside over a swear-in ceremony for new Coast Guard recruits.
The Miami-Doral Recruiting office will serve as a regional hub to engage communities across Miami, connecting individuals with opportunities in active duty and reserve positions in the Coast Guard.
"The Coast Guard has a long and proud history of service from the people of south Florida, and we are excited to strengthen our presence in this community with the opening of a new recruiting office in Doral,” said Guyer. “ As our service continues to grow to meet the nation’s evolving maritime challenges, we are seeking talented individuals who are ready to serve something greater than themselves. The Coast Guard is filled with dedicated men and women that are saving lives and protecting the homeland every day. Generations of Coast Guard members have come from this area of the country, and we are confident this recruiting office will continue that tradition by bringing the next generation of Coast Guard leaders."
