WHAT: Press event discussing Coast Guard safety and security support during Mardi Gras celebrations, to include a demonstration of canine sweeps of pier-side locations.

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold interviews on Friday to discuss measures the service is taking to keep the public safe during the Mardi Gras celebration and to explain the critical role in the collective security efforts undertaken by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, the State of Louisiana, the City of New Orleans, and many other agency-partner and stakeholders.
