HOUSTON — The Coast Guard along with local agencies is responding to a plane crash which occurred west of the Galveston Causeway in Galveston, Texas, Monday.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a call at approximately 3:17 p.m. reporting a plane crash west of the Galveston Causeway with eight people aboard.
Watchstanders then directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat–Small and an Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter.
The other agencies involved are: The Galveston County Sheriff’s Department, Galveston Police Department, Galveston Fire Department, Galveston Beach Patrol and Galveston Life Guards.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
