WHAT: The U.S. Coast Guard’s only three Polar icebreakers, USCGC Healy (WAGB 20), USCGC Polar Star (WAGB 10), and USCGC Storis (WAGB 21) will be in port together for the first time in Seattle. This rare gathering offers a unique opportunity for media to see the nation’s Polar fleet side-by-side and learn more about their critical missions and the importance of the Coast Guard’s icebreaker fleet in safeguarding U.S. interests in the Polar regions.
PHOTO & VIDEO OPPORTUNITY: All three U.S. Coast Guard icebreakers will be moored side-by-side, offering a striking visual lineup along the waterfront. Media are invited to capture wide shots of the full formation, close-up details of each vessel and an inside look of the cutters as well as interviews with available crew members.
WHO: Coast Guard crews and leadership from Polar Star, Healy, and Storis will be available for interviews and photo opportunities.
