WHO: The Coast Guard, Honolulu Fire Department, Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services, and Department of Land and Natural Resources (DOCARE).  

WHAT: Coast Guard and partner agency representatives will discuss this year’s search and rescue exercise and offer a tour of Coast Guard Station Honolulu and Coast Guard Cutter William Hart. 

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 10, 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

WHERE: Coast Guard Base Honolulu, 400 Sand Island Pkwy, Honolulu, HI 96819 

HONOLULU — Media are invited to attend an open house at Coast Guard Base Honolulu and conduct interviews with Coast Guard and partner agency members, Wednesday.  

This event is part of a two-day search and rescue exercise to test and evaluate interagency communications, response plans and responders’ actions during a simulated exercise. Each agency holds special capabilities that complement each other’s efforts and bolsters the overall success of the SAR system.  

Assets from the Coast Guard and partner agencies will be on display at Coast Guard Base Honolulu during this time. A tour of Station Honolulu and Coast Guard Cutter William Hart will be offered.
