CHARLESTON, S.C. — The crew of Coast Guard Sector Charleston is scheduled to hold a change of command ceremony, Friday, at Coast Guard Sector Charleston.

During the ceremony, Capt. Francis J. DelRosso will transfer command of Sector Charleston to Capt. Shawn A. Lansing. Rear Adm. Adam A. Chamie, commander of the Coast Guard Southeast District, will preside over the ceremony.

The change-of-command ceremony is a time-honored military tradition that marks a transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another. The ceremony is conducted in order to formally demonstrate the continuity of authority within a U.S. military command.
