JUNEAU, Alaska — The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a change of command ceremony Friday for the Coast Guard Arctic District commander at the Air National Guard Hangar in Juneau.
Who: Rear Adm. Megan Dean is scheduled to transfer command of U.S. Coast Guard Arctic District to Rear Adm. Ralph “Bob” Little
What: The change of command ceremony marks a transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another. It is a time-honored tradition, conducted before the assembled crew, as well as honored guests and dignitaries to formally demonstrate the continuity of the authority within a command.
When: Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m.
Where: Air National Guard Hangar, 8425 Livingston Way, Juneau, AK, 99801.
Media are requested to RSVP to uscgalaska@uscg.mil by 10 a.m., Thursday, July 10th.
Media should arrive no later than fifteen minutes before the event begins with credentials and identification. There is scheduled to be 10 minutes available for media interviews directly following the ceremony.
