CAPE MAY, N.J. – U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Amanda M. Lee relieved Capt. Warren D. Judge as commanding officer of U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, during a change of command ceremony, Tuesday.
Rear Adm. Jeffrey Randall, Commander, Force Readiness Command, presided over the ceremony.
Lee reported to Training Center Cape May having previously served as the Special Assistant to the Commandant of the Coast Guard where she advised the Commandant and other senior leaders on policy and strategy initiatives across operations and mission support activities.
“As I assume command, I recognize that our mission is foundational to Force Design 2028,” said Lee. “This is where the future of the Coast Guard begins. It is not with ships or systems, but with people. The cadre, staff, and instructors here are not just shaping recruits, they are forging the force that will carry us through the challenges of tomorrow. Together, we will train with purpose, lead with integrity, and prepare every shipmate to answer the call.”
Following the ceremony, Judge is reporting as the Chief of Staff, Fifth Coast Guard District, in Portsmouth, VA. Judge serves as Commanding Officer from July 2022 - June 2025.
The change of command ceremony is a time-honored tradition. It represents a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from one individual to another.
Training Center Cape May is the 5th largest base in the Coast Guard and the sole accession point for the entire enlisted workforce. Training Center Cape May’s mission is to transform the recruits of today into the Coast Guardsmen of tomorrow.
