Coast Guard relieves commander of Base Alameda

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The U.S. Coast Guard temporarily relieved the commander of Coast Guard Base Alameda, Tuesday.

Rear Adm. Carola List, commander, Operational Logistics Command, temporarily relieved Capt. David Melton due to loss of confidence. This temporary relief is not due to misconduct.

Base Alameda remains fully operational and there is no impact to public safety.

Capt. Brian Winburn has temporarily assumed the position of commander, Base Alameda.
