HONOLULU – The Coast Guard assisted Hawaii Life Flight with a non-maritime emergency medical service transport from Hilo, Hawaii, Monday.
Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received a notification at 8 a.m. Monday from the Hawaii Department of Health requesting a non-maritime emergency medical service transport for a 47-year-old man with a pelvic fracture, from Hilo to Honolulu.
At 1 p.m. Monday, an HC-130 Hercules airplane crew from Air Station Barbers Point, along with a Hawaii Life Flight medical team, transported the patient to Barbers Point where they were then transferred to EMS for further transport to The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
