Coast Guard, partner agencies search for overdue boaters near Bodega Bay, Calif.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard and partner agencies continue to search for four missing boaters near Bodega Bay, Sunday.

Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders received a notification at approximately 11:40 p.m. Saturday from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office of six overdue boaters aboard a 21-foot blue and white vessel. The boaters departed from Westside Marina at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday and were due to return by 7 p.m. the same day.

Two boaters from the vessel were located Sunday morning. The search efforts continue for the remaining individuals.

Rescue crews involved in the search are:

  • Coast Guard Cutter Tern
  • Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco
  • Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento
  • Coast Guard Air Station Humboldt Bay
  • Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office
  • Air Force 129th Rescue Wing
  • Civil Air Patrol
