HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced an 28-year-old man who lost consciousness approximately 28 miles south of Galveston Inlet, Saturday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a call via VHF-FM channel 16 at 9:45 a.m. from the captain aboard an 61-foot fishing boat stating a passenger lost consciousness.

Watchstanders directed the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston and a 45-foot Response Boat–Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Galveston.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.
