DESTIN, Fla. — Coast Guard and local agency partners are scheduled to present informative displays and demonstrations for National Safe Boating Week 5 a.m Monday at U.S. Coast Guard Station Destin.
A public open house is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The goal of the National Safe Boating Council “is a worldwide effort focused on responsible boating, encouraging boaters to always wear a life jacket while on the water.” Though National Safe Boating Week takes place from May 18-24, it is a year-round effort to increase boater safety awareness.
A Coast Guard Search and Rescue helicopter demonstration is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Individual members of each agency will be available for media interviews.
