Coast Guard, partner agencies searching for missing man near Bolivar Peninsula, Texas

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard, along with local partner agencies, is searching for a missing crew member near Bolivar Peninsula, Texas, Tuesday.

Missing is a Nicaraguan man last seen wearing black windbreaker pants and a blue sweater.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston command center watchstanders received notification at 8:58 a.m. from the captain of the commercial fishing vessel St. Joseph VII stating the crew member was last seen at midnight. 

Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launch of two Coast Guard Station Galveston 45-foot Response Boat–Medium crews and a Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to search for the missing crew member.

Involved in the search are:

  • Sector Houston-Galveston
  • Station Galveston
  • Air Station Houston
  • Galveston County Sheriff’s Office
