HARDIN COUNTY, TN — The Coast Guard, state and local first responders are scheduled to conduct a large-scale mass rescue drill on the Pickwick Lake near the Pickwick Dam Thursday.
The purpose of the drill is to enhance maritime incident response for both law enforcement and fire/rescue agency personnel who may respond to a maritime incident occurring along the Tennessee River regional area.
The drills will consist of a wide range of boat tactics and emergency response procedures from various agencies.
Map enclosed for parking location. Interviews regarding the drill will be on site, near the river. The main boat ramp at Pickwick Landing State Park will be closed to the public starting at 6 a.m. on November 16 until completion of the drills.
