MEDIA ADVISORY: Coast Guard invites media to Sector Charleston change of command ceremony

Editor's Note: Media are requested to RSVP by 6 p.m., Thursday, to the Coast Guard public affairs detachment Jacksonville office at 786-393-4138. 

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Coast Guard Sector Charleston staff invites the media to attend the change of command ceremony, Friday, at The Citadel Beach Club.

Who: Capt. Francis J. Del Rosso is assuming the duties and responsibilities of the commander of Coast Guard Sector Charleston from Capt. John D. Cole.

Rear Adm. Brendan C. McPherson, Seventh District Commander will be presiding.

What: A change of command ceremony is a time-honored tradition formally restating the continuity of the authority of command. It is a transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another.

Where: The Citadel Beach Club, 4700 Palm Blvd, Palms, South Carolina, 29451

When: Media are requested to arrive Friday, 10 a.m., April 14, 2023

Media interested in attending to the event must bring their credentials and ID to get through security.
