Coast Guard rescues 9 migrants from sunken vessel near Dominican Republic
A Coast Guard HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew located nine people in the water near Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, after their unseaworthy vessel capsized in an unlawful migration attempt approximately 40 miles offshore. Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier’s crew rescued all nine migrants and transferred them to the Dominican Republic Navy for repatriation and medical care. (U.S. Coast Guard Photo)
