The vessel was affected by high winds and rain from Typhoon Mawar, prompting a response to include hiring a salvor and submitting a salvage plan to the U.S. Coast Guard, diving, repairs, refloating, and dewatering all of which took several weeks to do safely and with as little impact to the environment as possible.
