Coast Guard to conduct additional testimony for the Grande Costa D’Avorio Hearing

NEW YORK — The Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have scheduled follow up witness testimony on Wednesday and Friday in support of the ongoing investigation into the fire that occurred on July 5, 2023 aboard the Italian-flagged cargo vessel, Grande Costa D’Avorio, while docked at the Port of Newark, New Jersey.

The videos of testimony are scheduled to be posted to the livestream site at https://livestream.com/uscginvestigations Wednesday and Friday.

Wednesday’s scheduled testimony is from Capt. David Rogers, Newark Fire Department, and Friday’s scheduled testimony is from Marian Ciumala, the Grande Costa D’Avorio’s Third Mate.

Additional testimony from other witnesses is still being scheduled. A follow up news release and tweet will be posted to share the dates of additional testimony once scheduled.
